Needing It To Last

Not being able to ask for the things that we want? Why don't we? Is it fear or pride? I used to believe that rejection played a big role in people holding back, but this generation is mostly fearless of everything? Why is the word 'no' haning over our heads??

I have always had trouble saying no. my friend has just become a part of this online shopping program which requires you to go out and find potential consumers and get them to sign up for this website. The idea is that you get a portion of the money your customers spend. My friend is constantly trying to get me to go to these meetings about it and I tell him it's not a good time due to excesive amounts of school work, my job and my band. Plus my job is sales and i hate pressuring people to buy things i know they cant afford. But i always feel guitly saying NO to my friend. I hate being the bad guy and i want to please everybody and i know im not the only one. I think our society should focus more on our priorities and should feel ok with saying no. Because sometimes saying "No", even though it may hurt someone's feeling is better for both parties in the long run.
