Who Will Tell the Truth? Who's Got the Courage?

Why are people afraid to be honest about some things? They would rather lie over and over again, rather than look stupid for five minutes and admit the truth? I have no idea what the big deal.
But perhaps that's the difference between men and women. Are women more willing to look like fools in the name of love? I've done soul searching, and some talking and I've seen that women will put themselves out there regardless of the situation because well, even though we like being in control we certainly don't like being the reason things went wrong. Men? You might put yourselves out there but it seems as if you don't unless you know the response you're going to get. And that's all but fair. I, personally, will in heartbeat put myself out there. But again, because I like to be able to say I wasn't the one who wasn't trying. It might be an ego things and probably a little selfish but I believe in trying.
Do men not put themselves out there because their scared or because they just like cat and mous games?

Approaching One Another

I have discovered that in relatiohips, we often become afraid to talk to one another about certain issues we may be having. Like we haven't been going out and seeing each other every day and suddenly you're afraid to tell them that you hate their new haircut? Give me a break! I think the closer we get to people the harder it becomes to tell them things that we can blurt out to complete strangers. And why is that you can tell someone you just met all about how you got so bullied when you were in high school because you were overweight and unpopular and had really bad breath, but you can't tell your best friend of 18 years that you hate her boyfriend?
